We live in the high desert, where summer days can soar past 100 degrees, winter nights can dip below freezing, and humidity often feels like a distant memory. Yet somehow, in homes, greenhouses, sunrooms, and windowsills across our region, our orchids thrive.
That’s what makes our community special and what brings us together.
The Orchid Society of Northern Nevada is a community of people who share a fascination with some of the world’s most extraordinary flowers. Our members range from first-time orchid owners to award-winning growers, but we all have one thing in common: we love the challenge, beauty, and surprise that comes with growing orchids in one of the toughest climates imaginable.
Whether you’re nurturing your first grocery-store Phalaenopsis or expanding a collection that has taken over an entire greenhouse, you’ll find a welcoming group eager to share knowledge, experiences, and a few hard-earned desert-growing secrets.

Monthly Meetings
Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00pm. We meet at the Moana Nursery Landscape and Design Center — 1100 West Moana Lane, Reno, NV.
